2021-22 GRADE 7 A SCIENCE NUTRITION IN PLANTS (TOPICS TAUGHT AND HOMEWORK)
DATE: 7/4/2021
GRADE: 7 A
CHAPTER: NUTRITION IN PLANTS
TOPICS TAUGHT:
- DIAGNOSTIC TEST(GOOGLE FORM)
- NUTRITION
- define nutrition
- state the two modes of nutrition in living organisms
- define and explain the process of photosynthesis
- state the equations for photosynthesis-- The process of photosynthesis is commonly written as: 6CO2 + 6H2O → C6H12O6 + 6O2. This means that the reactants, six carbon dioxide molecules and six water molecules, are converted by light energy captured by chlorophyll (implied by the arrow) into a sugar molecule and six oxygen molecules, the products.

ART INTEGRATION ACTIVITY (TO BE DONE IN SCRAPBOOK/IF
SCRAPBOOK NOT AVAILABLE,CAN BE DONE IN SCIENCE NOTEBOOK)
ACTIVITY 1- Integration with Art: Chlorophyll
painting
Chlorophyll, the green pigment
found in a plant’s leaves, is a key ingredient in the process of
photosynthesis. It also makes great paint! Material required (to be sourced by
the students): 8-10 leaves , a white sheet of paper, a metal spoon.
Draw the outline of the bark of a tree as shown in the image below.
· Press firmly
on the leaves with a metal spoon to extract the pigment and use it to colour
the leaves of the tree. Avoid plastic spoons as they break when pressed as
firmly as necessary.
· The student
can also ball up few leaves and use them as paintbrush to colour the leaves of
the tree.
· PLEASE SEND
EMAIL OF THE ACTIVITY ON podarinshiya5980@gmail.com
ACTIVITY 2 (TO BE DONE IN SCRAPBOOK)
TO find another example of a symbiotic relationship. Create a ‘WANTED’ poster. This might be a parasite looking for a new host, or an organism in a mutualism relationship looking for another organism to participate. Posters should be based on factual information and real symbiotic relationships.
NOTE: SUBMIT THE ACTIVITY TILL 17/4/2021 THROUGH MAIL podarinshiya5980@gmail.com
